Bowie Baysox Drive-In
at Prince George's Stadium, 4101 NE Crain Hwy (US 301), Bowie, Md.
capacity: 300 cars
years of operation: 2004-05
currently: operation moved to Hager Drive-In, Hagerstown
In 2004, the Washington metro area got a place to see drive-in movies for the first time in over 15 years when the operations of Hagerstown's innovative Mason-Dixon Drive-In were moved to a parking area at the Baysox' ballpark. For two seasons, audiences enjoyed mostly family-oriented (no movies allowed above PG-13 by the M-NCPPC, the stadium's owners) features beamed via digital projection onto the inflatable screen. Unfortunately, as before, scheduling conflicts with the park's main attraction forced an end to the arrangement.
